I am interested in exploring how different culture engage with and talk about technology. In the process, I investigate the role of perception, representation, and language in shaping technological discourse and inevitable gaps presented in them.
한 문화권이 어떤 식으로 기술을 표현/표상하고, 기술을 탐구하고 전승해나가는지, 그리고 이렇게 발달된 기술이 어떤 방식으로 다른 문화와 만나게 되는지에 대해 궁금증이 많다. 또한 이 과정에서 발생하는 틈에 대해 고민하고 있다.
Currently I’m a PhD student in Cognitive Science at UCSD. Before moving to San Diego, I was a researcher at Stanford University developing interactive microbiology systems, which was published on Nature Biotechnology and CHI. I obtained MFA in Design Media Arts at UCLA, and worked on generative art projects using classical graphic algorithms and deep learning techniques. These works were shown at the NeurIPS Art Gallery and other venues.
현재 UCSD의 인지과학 대학원에서 인간-컴퓨터 상호작용(HCI) 연구를 진행 중이다. 이전에는 스탠포드 대학원에서 원격 미생물 실험 시스템을 연구/개발하여 Nature 등에 학술 논문을 개제하였다. 또한 UCLA 디자인 미디어 아트 대학원 졸업 후 고전 그래픽 알고리즘과 딥러닝 기술을 이용하여 제너레티브 아트 프로젝트를 다수 진행하며 NeurIPS Art Gallery등에 전시하였다.

2017년도부터 Processing Foundation 산하 p5.js 프로젝트에 기여하고 있다.
